Make Way for the New
I opened my eyes and there I saw
Orange koi dancing
Beneath murky water
Unaware of the cares of the world
The water, so dark,
Masked the fish
Until all you could see
Were outlines.
New, younger fish
Dart by the ancient koi
The darkness of them contrasting,
Shielding the orange shapes.
Looking away, I saw
A wide tree,
Taller than the others,
The king with a crown of green atop his head
Looking across his kingdom.
However, as my gaze slid down,
The trunk of the king was covered
The brown of successors overlapping.
I continued on my journey
Through the coarse forest
Watching peacefully
Until a beeping interrupted
Searching for the source,
I blinked my eyes
And woke up as I realized
The beeps emitted
Were from my alarm clock.

writing images and poems from dreams.. i guess this is a good idea.. only if you've got good dreams.... but if you've got recurring nightmares, (like me) it might be best if you dont try this at home..
my poem "The Voices" was written several years ago.. after i've been haunted by the same damn nightmare several times.. even now, i get things creeping up and down my spine when i read the voices..
